Gennadi Tumat

Desde el corazón de Asia, desde Tuvá, administrativamente en la Federación Rusa, pero muy cercana musicalmente a la vecina Mongolia, nos llegan estas deslumbrantes grabaciones de finales del siglo pasado, recogidas por el sello PAN Records. En ellas escuchamos a Gennadi Tumat con su grupo Ay Kherel, una de las más reconocidas voces del canto difónico khöömei, quien nos dejó demasiado pronto.

From the heart of Asia, from Tuva, administratively part of the Russian Federation, but musically very close to neighboring Mongolia, come these dazzling recordings from the end of the last century, released by the label PAN Records. In them we hear Gennadi Tumat with his group Ay Kherel, one of the most renowned voices of the khöömei overtone singing, who left us far too soon.
