Programa íntegramente dedicado a novedades musicales en el que viajamos de Jerez al Épiro, recogiendo sones flamencos, griegos, turcos y kurdos que nos llevan de lo tradicional a lo experimental, de lo íntimo a lo extrovertido y de los ecos del pasado a las proyecciones futuras.

A program entirely dedicated to new musical releases in which we travel from Jerez to Epirus, gathering flamenco, Greek, Turkish and Kurdish sounds that take us from the traditional to the experimental, from the intimate to the extroverted and from the echoes of the past to the projections of the future.

Cumbia cañamillera & afrobeat

Disfrutamos de lo lindo con un estupendo recopilatorio que nos trae las más auténticas raíces del Caribe colombiano y de la cumbia cañamillera: «La caña de millo: Voz histórica y silenciada de la cumbia». Gozamos también con algunos ejemplos del afrobeat llegado de Venezuela, Nigeria y Hungría incluidos en otro recopilatorio: «Global afrobeat movement, vol. 2».

We enjoy a great compilation that brings us the most authentic roots of the Colombian Caribbean and the cumbia cañamillera: «La Caña de Millo: Voz Histórica y Silenciada de la Cumbia».We also enjoy some afrobeat tracks from Venezuela, Nigeria and Hungary included in another compilation: «Global Afrobeat Movement, Vol. 2».

Buscamos las músicas más auténticas, con más jondura, como dicen los flamencos, que encontramos en los sones de la cueca chilena, de las músicas populares de Norteamérica, de los cantos tradicionales escandinavos y de los experimentos alrededor, precisamente, del flamenco.

We look for the most authentic music, with more depth, «jondura», as the flamencos say, which we find in the sounds of the Chilean cueca, of the popular music of North America, of the traditional Scandinavian songs and of the experiments around, precisely, flamenco.

November favorites + Worldwide connections

Comenzamos con los tres discos favoritos del mes de noviembre en Mundofonías: el recopilatorio del Festival Gergina, con la música de los valacos en Serbia; el del sello alemán Jaro, celebrando sus cuarenta años, y el álbum del músico turco Cihan Türkoğlu. Continuamos con conexiones que nos llevan desde el occidente europeo al Asia Central, Corea y Argentina, y anunciamos la celebración del Premio Andrea Parodi, del que volvemos a ser parte este año del jurado internacional.

We begin with the three favorite albums of November in Mundofonías: the compilation of the Gergina Festival, with the music of the Vlachs in Serbia; the one by the German label Jaro, celebrating its fortieth anniversary, and the album by the Turkish musician Cihan Türkoğlu. We continue with connections that take us from Western Europe to Central Asia, Korea and Argentina, and announce the celebration of the Premio Andrea Parodi, of which we are again this year part of the international jury.
