En esta ocasión, las músicas nos llegan desde Córcega, el pueblo sami, el Mediterráneo oriental, los Andes peruanos, una conexión indio-neoyorkina, Colombia, Grecia o La Reunión, para terminar con la entente balcano-canadiense de Adrian Raso & Fanfare Ciocărlia, que se sitúan en el número 1 de este mes.

Free overview of this month’s Transglobal World Music Chart, created through the voting of a panel of world music disseminators from all continents, of which the makers of Mundofonías are co-creators and co-promoters. On this occasion, the music comes to us from Corsica, the Sami people, the Eastern Mediterranean, the Peruvian Andes, an Indian-New York connection, Colombia, Greece and Réunion, ending with the Balkan–Canadian alliance of Adrian Raso & Fanfare Ciocărlia, who take the number 1 spot this month.

Desde la isla de La Reunión, en el Índico, cerca de Madagascar, el grupo Votia nos ofrece su debut discográfico con el sello sueco Ajabu!, “Vié kaz”, que nos acerca el vibrante pulso del maloya de la isla y nos recuerda los no muy lejanos tiempos en que esta expresión era perseguida.

From the island of Réunion, in the Indian Ocean, near Madagascar, the group Votia presents their debut album with the Swedish label Ajabu!, “Vié kaz”, bringing us the vibrant pulse of the island’s maloya and reminding us of the not-so-distant times when this expression was persecuted.
