Traemos, como siempre, músicas fuera de lo normal, de lo que te vas a encontrar en todas partes. Desde la tradición más cruda y auténtica que algunos intentan arrinconar en el pasado, pero que se rebela y se revela como plenamente actual, hasta las experimentaciones y mezcolanzas más inesperadas, con numerosos estrenos y adelantos musicales. Suenan músicas que nos llegan desde Bretaña, Auvernia, Italia, los Andes, Chequia, Pakistán o Azerbaiyán.

We bring, as always, music out of the ordinary, of what you are going to find everywhere. From the rawest and most authentic tradition, which some try to corner in the past, but which rebels and reveals itself as fully contemporary, to the most unexpected experimentations and mixtures, with numerous premieres and music previews. The music comes from Brittany, Auvergne, Italy, the Andes, Czechia, Pakistan and Azerbaijan.

Nuevas músicas enraizadas
New rooted music

Comenzamos el programa con el Quintet Bumbac, desde Francia, y sus nuevas e inspiradas composiciones de aires balcánicos, a cargo de David Brossier, a quien tenemos también como voz invitada. Continuamos con otras novedades musicales, con proyectos que reúnen artistas de muy variado origen, como el Auster Loo Collective, que amalgama artistas belgas, iraníes, senegaleses, japoneses y mexicanos. También desde Bélgica nos llegan los ecos de las percusiones globales de Spëcht. Seguimos por el sur de Italia, con la música panmediterránea de Alfredo Pumilia, para continuar con los artistas iraníes Maliheh Moradi y Ehsan Matoori, y terminar en Grecia, con Katerina Papadopoulou y su grupo Aegean Arc.

We begin the show with Quintet Bumbac, from France, and their new and inspired compositions with Balkan airs, led by David Brossier, who is also our guest voice. We continue with other new musical releases, with projects that bring together artists of very different origins, such as the Auster Loo Collective, which amalgamates Belgian, Iranian, Senegalese, Japanese and Mexican artists. Also from Belgium come the echoes of the global percussions of Spëcht. We continue in southern Italy, with the pan-Mediterranean music of Alfredo Pumilia, to continue with the Iranian artists Maliheh Moradi and Ehsan Matoori, and finish in Greece, with Katerina Papadopoulou and her group Aegean Arc.

Comenzamos flamenqueando con novedades musicales que conectan el flamenco con la tradición sefardí, la copla o la música cubana. Continuamos con reediciones a ritmo de cumbia desde Perú y Colombia, gracias al sello Vampisoul, para terminar con unos históricos del rock andaluz: Guadalquivir, y sus dos últimos trabajos nos muestran al grupo hace cuatro décadas y en la actualidad.

We start flamencoing with new releases that connect flamenco with the Sephardic tradition, Spanish copla and Cuban music. We continue with re-releases with cumbia rhythms from Peru and Colombia, thanks to the Vampisoul label, to finish with a historic rock andaluz band: Guadalquivir, with their last two albums that show us the group four decades ago and today.

Partimos desde Bretaña y otros parajes del territorio francés, tendiendo puentes entre sus raíces y las de Oriente Próximo o el Cáucaso. También encontramos conexiones entre Anatolia y Londres, Zambia y Escocia o Cataluña y los Balcanes. Nos adelantamos a músicas que saldrán publicadas próximamente, con sabores del África oriental y terminamos con una conexión global entre Bélgica, Senegal, Japón, Persia y México.

We start from Brittany and other parts of the French territory, building bridges between its roots and those of the Middle East or the Caucasus. We also find connections between Anatolia and London, Zambia and Scotland or Catalonia and the Balkans. We preview music that will be published soon, with flavors from East Africa, and end with a global connection between Belgium, Senegal, Japan, Persia and Mexico.

We recently dedicated a program to the fascinating albums of the Canary Records label, with sound recordings that took us to wonderful unexpected places of the past. We travel in spacetime in this edition of Mundofonías, with new albums that bring us music from the last hundred years that connect the Balkans with North America, France, Russia and Ukraine. Un programa enteramente dedicado a novedades musicales que nos va a llevar por diferentes lugares de Europa (desde Bretaña al este europeo y desde los países nórdicos a Italia) y que también trae ecos árabes desde Gran Bretaña y judíos desde Norteamérica. Músicas viajeras que exigen el alto el fuego y la paz en todo el mundo.

Descorchamos unas cuantas novedades discográficas bien interesantes que nos llevan, para empezar, por Polonia, con el grupo Sutari y la Kapela Romana Wojciechowskiego. El inquieto sello polaco Muzyka Zakorzeniona, responsable de la grabación de este último grupo, también nos relata las historias de ida y vuelta de emigrantes de origen polaco retornados desde Croacia. Nos vamos después a Baskortostán, en los Urales, para escuchar músicas del pueblo baskir, que da nombre al territorio, y de las comunidades de origen ucraniano allí asentadas, con grabaciones sobre el terreno de Antonovka Records. Continuamos por el norte de Europa, pasando un día en una granja noruega con los cantos de Synnøve Brøndbo Plassen. Seguimos con las nuevas propuestas musicales del dúo anglo-estonio compuesto por Eva Väljaots y Robbie Sherratt y el trío belga-danés-estonio Alterne. En Finlandia nos encontramos con las músicas sorprendentes de la Hulbækmo & Jacobsen Familieorkester, del cuarteto de armónicas Sväng y de Jussi Reijonen, quien reúne en su grupo a artistas también de Jordania, Irak, Palestina, Turquía, Japón y los Estados Unidos.

We uncork a few interesting new recordings that take us, to begin with, to Poland, with the group Sutari and the Kapela Romana Wojciechowskiego. The restless Polish label Muzyka Zakorzeniona, responsible for the recording of the latter group, also tells us the stories of Polish emigrants returning from Croatia. We then go to Bashkortostan, in the Urals, to listen to the music of the Bashkir people, after whom the territory is named, and of the communities of Ukrainian origin settled there, with field recordings by Antonovka Records. We continue in Northern Europe, spending a day on a Norwegian farm with the songs of Synnøve Brøndbo Plassen. We continue with the new musical proposals of the Anglo-Estonian duo composed of Eva Väljaots and Robbie Sherratt and the Belgian-Danish-Estonian trio Alterne. In Finland we find the surprising music of the Hulbækmo & Jacobsen Familieorkester, the harmonica quartet Sväng and Jussi Reijonen, who brings together in his group artists also from Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Turkey, Japan and the USA.

Comenzamos celebrando los 40 años de aleaciones musicales de los minesotanos Boiled in Lead, para continuar con expediciones y experimentaciones en pos de músicas inusuales que nos llegan desde Karachi, Alejandría y la provincia china de Yunnan, así como de colectivos de músicos de diversas culturas que se encuentran en las capitales europeas.

We start celebrating the 40 years of musical alloys of the Minnesotans Boiled in Lead, to continue with expeditions and experimentations in search of unusual music coming from Karachi, Alexandria and the Chinese province of Yunnan, as well as from collectives of musicians from different cultures in European capitals.
