We play some European rooted and salt-scented music, with Celtic airs from Brittany and Ireland that make us travel also to the other side of the Ocean: to Canada. We also call in some other Flemish, Finnish and Estonian musical ports.

We play some tracks with Western African airs to continue enjoying ourselves with some Brazilian choros and some tunes that make us travel further north in America, to Mexico, welcoming a new radio station that is broadcasting our show, Radio UABCS, the Baja California Sur State Autonomous University radio station. Then, to the regret of Mr Trump, we jump over the wall to enjoy more music with popular inspiration from the States.

Comenzamos repasando los tres discos favoritos del mes, que nos llegan desde Madagascar, Bretaña y la India, a cargo de Toko Telo, Yann-Fañch Kemener Trio y Mashkoor Ali Khan. Seguimos con aires que evocan sones de la Europa central y oriental que nos llegan desde allí, pero también desde Europa occidental y Australia. Terminamos con fascinantes músicas populares chinas y con conexiones a la vez indo-suecas y jazzístico-carnáticas.

We start reviewing the three monthly favorite albums, arrived from Madagascar, Brittany and India, by Toko Telo, Yann-Fañch Kemener Trio and Mashkoor Ali Khan. We continue with airs evoking Central and Eastern Europe that come from there but also from Western Europe and Australia. We finish with fascinating folk music from China and with Indian-Swedish, jazz-carnatic connections.

Hoy comenzamos de nuevo en la isla de La Reunión, con ese latido de libertad que estuvo una vez perseguido: la música maloya. Seguimos, tras hacer escala en Bamako, Nápoles y en una Francia cosmopolita, hacia territorio en guerra, con músicas que resisten contra el desastre de la violencia y la prohibición de los fanáticos religiosos de mente abducida. Bailamos ritmos de esperanza en Irak y en Siria, y escuchamos a los músicos del norte de Mali advirtiendo que, para acabar con la música, tendrán que acabar con ellos antes.

We start again in the Réunion Island, with that freedom pulse that was once forbidden: maloya music. After some stopovers in Bamako, Napoli and a cosmopolitan France, we enter into war zones, with music that resists against the disaster of violence and the ban by the abduced-minded religious fanatics. We dance rhythms of hope in Iraq and Syria and we listen to the musicians from Northern Mali saying that, if they want to kill the music, they will have to kill them first.
