LIMúR and year-end mosaic

Repasamos la LIMúR, la Lista Ibérica de Músicas de Raíz, con algunos de los discos seleccionados para el último trimestre del 2025, así como otras novedades ibéricas, con un importante componente flamenco, rumbero y fiestero, celebrando también los 600 años de presencia del pueblo gitano en lo que hoy es España. Hablamos también del Festival Flamenco de Nimes, en tierras ocitanas de Francia y terminamos clamando contra las violencias, desastres y genocidios en Palestina, Sudán, Congo y tantos lugares de nuestro planeta, deseando un feliz año con un delicioso clásico congoleño.

We review LIMúR, the Iberian Roots Music Chart, with some of the albums selected for the final quarter of 2025, along with other Iberian new releases, with a strong flamenco, rumba and festive component, also celebrating 600 years of the presence of the Roma people in what is now Spain. We also talk about the Festival Flamenco Nîmes, in Occitan lands of France, and we end by raising our voices against violence, disasters and genocides in Palestine, Sudan, Congo and so many places on our planet, wishing a happy new year with a delicious Congolese classic.

Tatros Együttes

El grupo Tatros (Tatros Együttes, en húngaro) se fija en las tradiciones musicales del pueblo “csángó” (pronúnciese “chango”), de raíz húngara, que se establece en diferentes regiones de Rumanía por las que discurre el río que da nombre a esta formación. Su disco “Pillanat” nos ofrece una muy auténtica muestra de cantos, danzas, rítmicas y tímbricas de aquellas comunidades.

The group Tatros (Tatros Együttes, in Hungarian) focuses on the musical traditions of the Csángó people (pronounced “chango”), of Hungarian origin, settled in different regions of Romania through which flows the river that gives this ensemble its name. Their album “Pillanat” offers a very authentic sample of the songs, dances, rhythms and timbres of those communities.

Our selection is non-hierarchical and unnumbered, encompassing those recordings that have been more interesting for us and have given us more pleasure during this year. It’s a completely independent, non-commercial list, not subject to any other consideration than the criteria of the hosts of Mundofonías, solely focusing on the quality and interest of the albums. The albums evaluated to prepare this list are the complete original ones discovered and broadcast during this year (or at the end of the previous year), irrespective of where or by whom they have been published or their mode of distribution.
