Traemos soplos de flautas y fuelles de acordeones, entre otras mil músicas, para viajar entre Persia, Albania, Líbano, Cataluña, Portugal, Luisiana, Madagascar, Mesopotamia y muchas Francias, en un programa en el que contamos con Olivier Rey, director del Babel Music XP de Marsella, como invitado para darnos las claves principales de la próxima edición de esta imprescindible cita.

We bring the breath of flutes and the bellows of accordions, among a thousand other musics, to travel between Persia, Albania, Lebanon, Catalonia, Portugal, Louisiana, Madagascar, Mesopotamia and many Frances, in a programme in which we welcome Olivier Rey, director of Babel Music XP in Marseille, as a guest to share with us the main keys to the upcoming edition of this essential event.

La música modal caracteriza muchas de las tradiciones orientales: la árabe, la persa, la turca, la india… También impregna músicas populares de diferentes lugares de Europa, desde los Balcanes a tierras más occidentales. Exploramos músicas de reciente factura y, en muchos casos, de reciente composición que nos llevan por estos caminos sonoros, a través de distintos tratamientos y en diferentes combinaciones, con especial incidencia en las músicas griegas, pero también en las sirias y de otras raíces.

Modal music characterizes many Eastern traditions: Arab, Persian, Turkish, Indian… It also permeates popular music from different parts of Europe, from the Balkans to more Western lands. We explore recently created music and, in many cases, recently composed pieces that take us along these sound paths through different treatments and in various combinations, with particular emphasis on Greek music, but also on Syrian music and others with different roots.

El maestro de la lira cretense, Stelios Petrakis, nos acerca un nuevo trabajo cuajado de colaboraciones de grandes artistas: “Lyric”, o, por su título en griego, “Lyrikon”. Composiciones propias y piezas tradicionales, especialmente de Grecia, pero también una valenciana dedicada a las víctimas de la dana, así como curiosas versiones, como una de Metallica, componen un disco que tampoco quiere olvidarse de las víctimas de Gaza.

The master of the Cretan lyra, Stelios Petrakis, brings us a new work rich in collaborations with great artists: “Lyric”, or, by its title in Greek, “Lyrikon”. Original compositions and traditional pieces, especially from Greece, but also a Valencian one dedicated to the victims of the floods, as well as curious versions, such as one of Metallica, make up an album that also does not want to forget the victims of Gaza.

We let ourselves be seduced by the Amazonian cumbia that resonated half a century ago in Iquitos, as well as in other places in Peru and around the world, and that continues to captivate us today thanks to the compilation just released by Analog Africa. Invirtiendo el sentido de los movimientos tectónicos, el Atlántico se nos convierte en un estuario en el que ambas orillas se acercan para descubrirnos las músicas que bullen en sus márgenes y en inspiradores diálogos intercontinentales que desembocan en esta edición de “Mil mundos”. Tejemos así un entramado que va cogiendo puntadas en Italia, los Andes, Francia, Argentina, España, Colombia, Brasil, Argelia, Estados Unidos, Persia, Senegal, Canadá, Alemania o Ghana. Aires tradicionales y experimentales, urbanos y rurales, ancestrales y futuristas, mestizos, evocadores, viajeros, indígenas…

Reversing the direction of tectonic movements, the Atlantic becomes for us an estuary in which both shores draw closer together to reveal the music bubbling along their margins and in inspiring intercontinental dialogues that flow into this edition of “Mil mundos”. We thus weave a network that gathers stitches in Italy, the Andes, France, Argentina, Spain, Colombia, Brazil, Algeria, the United States, Persia, Senegal, Canada, Germany and Ghana. Gatherings, metamorphoses and tributes

Reunimos músicas poliédricas y metamórficas, en las cuales también estilos y artistas de diversos orígenes confluyen. Viajamos entre Madagascar, La Reunión, Grecia, Serbia, Letonia, y también con encuentros entre músicos persas, burkineses, franceses y canadienses. Pero previamente habíamos abierto con el recuerdo a los míticos Pata Negra, aunando flamenco y blues, en homenaje al recientemente desaparecido Rafael Amador.

We bring together polyhedral and metamorphic music in which styles and artists of diverse origins converge. We travel between Madagascar, La Réunion, Greece, Serbia, Latvia, and we also bring encounters between Persian, Burkinabé, French and Canadian musicians. But we had previously opened with a remembrance of the legendary Pata Negra, uniting flamenco and blues, in tribute to the recently passed away Rafael Amador.

Tres artistas de raíces persas, afrooccidentales y francesas unen sus pasiones y experiencias musicales que revelan una conexión africana que atraviesa continentes: desde Burkina Faso a la pulsión del ethiojazz en el corazón de París o a las poco conocidas raíces africanas de comunidades del sur de Irán. Es Hami Hamoo, que presenta su primer disco, “Siya”, editado por Accords Croisés.

Three artists of Persian, Afro-Western and French roots unite their passions and musical experiences, revealing an African connection that spans continents: from Burkina Faso to the pulse of ethiojazz in the heart of Paris, and to the little-known African roots of communities in southern Iran. It’s Hami Hamoo, presenting their first album, “Siya”, released by Accords Croisés.
