Supernovas, utopías y lamentos. Eso y más cosas nos evocan las músicas que nos llevan desde Brasil y Portugal a los Balcanes, con ecos de Serbia y de diversos rincones de Grecia, para aterrizar en Gotemburgo, en Suecia, donde nos aguardan sones gitanos de Rusia y el este de Europa, y célticos, mirando también hacia el oeste. Repasamos, entretanto, la Balkan World Music Chart del último trimestre del 2021, de cuyo panel los hacedores de Mundofonías formamos parte.

Supernovas, utopias and laments. All this and more is evoked by the music that takes us from Brazil and Portugal to the Balkans, with echoes of Serbia and various corners of Greece, to then land in Gothenburg, Sweden, where Gypsy sounds from Russia and Eastern Europe await us, and also Celtic sounds, looking westwards. In the meantime, we review the Balkan World Music Chart for the last quarter of 2021, of which the Mundofonías creators are part of the panel.

Transglobal World Music Chart

Repaso libre a la Transglobal World Music Chart del mes, confeccionada a través de la votación de un panel de divulgadores de las músicas del mundo de todos los continentes, del que los hacedores de Mundofonías somos cocreadores y coimpulsores. Este mes de enero del 2022, viajamos por Portugal, Chequia, Anatolia, Eslovaquia, Mali, Brasil, Italia y Polonia, con evocaciones también jazzísticas y centroasiáticas, para acabar con el número uno, que es para los tuvanos Khöömei Beat. ¡Feliz año nuevo!

A loose review of the Transglobal World Music Chart for this month, determined by a panel of world music specialists from all the continents, of which the Mundofonías‘ presenters are co-creators and co-promoters. This January 2022, we travel through Portugal, the Czech Republic, Anatolia, Slovakia, Mali, Brazil, Italy and Poland, also with jazzy and Central Asian evocations, to finish with the number one, which is for the Tuvan band Khöömei Beat. Es una lista completamente independiente, no comercial, no sujeta a ninguna otra consideración que el propio criterio de los que hacemos Mundofonías, teniendo en cuanta solo la calidad e interés de los álbumes. Los discos valorados para elaborar esta lista son los trabajos completos y originales recibidos durante el año (o finales del año anterior), sin importar dónde ni por quién hayan sido editados o la distribución comercial que tengan.

This list shows the selection of 2021 Mundofonías’ favorite albums, appearing in a random order. Our list is a non-hierarchical, nor numbered one, and includes those recordings that have been more interesting for us and have given us more pleasure during this year. It’s a completely independent, non-commercial list, not subject to any other consideration that the own criteria of the hosts of Mundofonías, just considering the quality and interest of the albums. The records evaluated to prepare this list are the original ones that we have received in its complete version during this year (or at the end of the last year), regardless of where or by whom they have been published or which kind of commercial distribution they have.

Abrimos con los tres discos favoritos del mes de diciembre en Mundofonías, con los sones auténticos  de las recopilaciones «La caña de millo», desde Colombia y «Zār: Music for the spirits». desde Egipto, así como con la música griega Xanthoula Dakovanou. Continuamos con otras novedades musicales que nos llevan desde sones tropicales hechos en Lima a aires flamencos «made in France», pasando por Castilla, Estambul, Siria y varias Al Hamras o Alhambras.

We open with the three favorite albums of December in Mundofonías, with the authentic sounds of the compilations «La Caña de Millo»¨, from Colombia and «Zār: Music for the Spirits», from Egypt, as well as with the Greek musician Xanthoula Dakovanou. We continue with other new albums that take us from tropical sounds made in Lima to flamenco airs made in France, passing through Castile, Istanbul, Syria and several Al Hamras or Alhambras.
