ZRI

ZRI son las siglas de Zum Roten Igel (‘Al búho rojo’), nombre de un mítico local vienés de la época de Schubert y Brahms, donde compositores y melómanos se reunían para escuchar las nuevas composiciones, charlar y beber. Y también es el nombre de este proyecto, que le da a los clásicos una sabrosa pincelada de las músicas populares en las que se inspiraron, echando también la mirada a lo que se cocía en el imperio Otomano. Su disco “Café Danube” sale editado a través de ARC Music / Naxos World.

ZRI stands for Zum Roten Igel (‘To the Red Hedgehog’), the name of a legendary Viennese venue from the time of Schubert and Brahms, where composers and music lovers gathered to listen to new compositions, chat, and drink. It is also the name of this project, which gives the classics a flavorful touch of the folk music that inspired them, while also looking at what was happening in the Ottoman Empire.
