Recorremos el mundo a base de nuevas ediciones discográficas y de alguna antigua joya recién descubierta. Partiendo de Mali, atravesamos el norte de África y el Oriente Próximo, para alcanzar el subcontinente indio y China en busca de hermosas y fascinantes músicas, recreándonos en algunas melodías de belleza difícilmente superable. Suenan, entre otros, el nuevo disco del tañedor de ngoni Bassekou Kouyate y la cantora Amy Sacko, desde Mali; la reivindicación de la presencia femenina en la música gnawa de Asmaa Hamzaoui & Bnat Timbouktou, desde Marruecos, y la tradición del laúd pipa chino en manos de la intérprete taiwanesa Yun-Han Su.
We travel the world through new recordings and some recently discovered old gems. Starting from Mali, we cross North Africa and the Middle East, to reach the Indian subcontinent and China in search of beautiful and fascinating music, recreating ourselves in some melodies of hard-to-surpass beauty. We hear, among others, the new album by the ngoni player Bassekou Kouyate and the singer Amy Sacko, from Mali; the vindication of the female presence in gnawa music by Asmaa Hamzaoui & Bnat Timbouktou, from Morocco, and the tradition of the Chinese pipe lute in the hands of the Taiwanese performer Yun-Han Su.
