Repasamos algunos discos de reciente producción que nos traen ecos de las islas Británicas, o, como prefieren decir los irlandeses, del archipiélago Atlántico. Suena el acordeón diatónico del inglés Archie Churchill-Moss, el grupo irlandés Pontún o los escoceses Rura y Dallahan. Disfrutamos después con el estupendo nuevo trabajo de la violinista, cantante y compositora Eliza Carthy con su trío; del afortunado encuentro de la violinista irlandesa Aoife Ní Bhriain con la arpista galesa Catrin Finch 📸, o de la evocación musical de Pól Brennan acerca de los acontecimientos históricos que desembocaron en la independencia de Irlanda. Recordamos también algunas maravillas vocales de la anglobritánica Sheila Chandra, ahora reeditadas, y terminamos en Irlanda del Norte con Réalta.

We review some recently produced albums that bring us echoes of the British Isles, or, as the Irish prefer to say, of the Atlantic Archipelago. We listen to the diatonic accordion of the Englishman Archie Churchill-Moss, the Irish group Pontún or the Scots Rura and Dallahan. We then enjoy the wonderful new work of the violinist, singer and composer Eliza Carthy with her trio; the fortunate meeting of the Irish violinist Aoife Ní Bhriain with the Welsh harpist Catrin Finch 📸, or the musical evocation of Pól Brennan about the historical events that led to the independence of Ireland. We also remember some vocal wonders of the Anglo-British Sheila Chandra, now reissued, and we finish in Northern Ireland with Réalta.
