Repaso libre a la Transglobal World Music Chart de este mes, confeccionada a través de la votación de un panel de divulgadores de las músicas del mundo de todos los continentes, del que los hacedores de Mundofonías somos cocreadores y coimpulsores.Esta vez viajamos por Mali, Hungría, Perú, los Países Bajos. Grecia, Francia, Argenitina, Italia, Burkina Faso y el País de Gales. Terminamos donde empezamos, en Mali, con el número 1 de Neba Solo & Benego Diakité.

Our loose overview of this month’s Transglobal World Music Chart, created through the voting of a panel of world music disseminators from all continents, of which the makers of Mundofonías are co-creators and co-promoters. This time we travel through Mali, Hungary, Peru, the Netherlands, Greece, France, Argentina, Italy, Burkina Faso and Wales. Nos dejamos seducir por la cumbia amazónica que vibraba hace medio siglo en Iquitos, así como en otros lugares de Perú y del mundo, y que nos sigue cautivando hoy, gracias a la recopilación que acaba de publicar Analog Africa. Es la música de Ranil y su Conjunto Musical, con quien viajamos a su “Galaxia tropical”.

We let ourselves be seduced by the Amazonian cumbia that resonated half a century ago in Iquitos, as well as in other places in Peru and around the world, and that continues to captivate us today thanks to the compilation just released by Analog Africa. It’s Ranil y su Conjunto Musical‘s music, with whom we travel to his “Galaxia tropical”.

Vibrantes músicas nos hacen bailar con mil compases y extrañas criaturas, a través del espacio y el tiempo, con nuevos discos que os acercamos para vuestro disfrute. Nuestra pista de baile se extiende por Francia, Norteamérica, los países bálticos y nórdicos, Escocia, para acabamos en tierras de Mali, con músicas separadas entre sí por casi un siglo.

Vibrant music makes us dance through a thousand rhythms and strange creatures, across space and time, with new albums that we bring you for your enjoyment. Our dance floor stretches across France, North America, the Baltic and Nordic countries, Scotland, before ending in the lands of Mali, with music separated from one another by nearly a century.

Invirtiendo el sentido de los movimientos tectónicos, el Atlántico se nos convierte en un estuario en el que ambas orillas se acercan para descubrirnos las músicas que bullen en sus márgenes y en inspiradores diálogos intercontinentales que desembocan en esta edición de “Mil mundos”. Tejemos así un entramado que va cogiendo puntadas en Italia, los Andes, Francia, Argentina, España, Colombia, Brasil, Argelia, Estados Unidos, Persia, Senegal, Canadá, Alemania o Ghana. Aires tradicionales y experimentales, urbanos y rurales, ancestrales y futuristas, mestizos, evocadores, viajeros, indígenas…

Reversing the direction of tectonic movements, the Atlantic becomes for us an estuary in which both shores draw closer together to reveal the music bubbling along their margins and in inspiring intercontinental dialogues that flow into this edition of “Mil mundos”. We thus weave a network that gathers stitches in Italy, the Andes, France, Argentina, Spain, Colombia, Brazil, Algeria, the United States, Persia, Senegal, Canada, Germany and Ghana. Traditional and experimental, urban and rural, ancestral and futuristic, hybrid, evocative, travelling, indigenous sounds…

We delight in the unclassifiable and surprising music of these French musicians, Les Fils Canouche, who celebrate 20 years of existence with their seventh album, “Les pantophiles”. Swing manouche, musette and Balkan influences are some of the ingredients of their appealing proposal.

Reuniones, metamorfosis y homenajes
Gatherings, metamorphoses and tributes

Reunimos músicas poliédricas y metamórficas, en las cuales también estilos y artistas de diversos orígenes confluyen. Viajamos entre Madagascar, La Reunión, Grecia, Serbia, Letonia, y también con encuentros entre músicos persas, burkineses, franceses y canadienses. Pero previamente habíamos abierto con el recuerdo a los míticos Pata Negra, aunando flamenco y blues, en homenaje al recientemente desaparecido Rafael Amador.

We bring together polyhedral and metamorphic music in which styles and artists of diverse origins converge. We travel between Madagascar, La Réunion, Greece, Serbia, Latvia, and we also bring encounters between Persian, Burkinabé, French and Canadian musicians. But we had previously opened with a remembrance of the legendary Pata Negra, uniting flamenco and blues, in tribute to the recently passed away Rafael Amador.

Tres artistas de raíces persas, afrooccidentales y francesas unen sus pasiones y experiencias musicales que revelan una conexión africana que atraviesa continentes: desde Burkina Faso a la pulsión del ethiojazz en el corazón de París o a las poco conocidas raíces africanas de comunidades del sur de Irán. Es Hami Hamoo, que presenta su primer disco, “Siya”, editado por Accords Croisés.

Three artists of Persian, Afro-Western and French roots unite their passions and musical experiences, revealing an African connection that spans continents: from Burkina Faso to the pulse of ethiojazz in the heart of Paris, and to the little-known African roots of communities in southern Iran. It’s Hami Hamoo, presenting their first album, “Siya”, released by Accords Croisés.

Repasamos el resultado y algunas de las músicas que más interesantes nos han parecido de entre las galardonadas en varias convocatorias de las que los hacedores de Mundofonías somos miembros del jurado: Balkan World Music Chart, Russian World Music Chart y Russian World Music Awards, en las que se ha elegido los más destacados discos del 2025 en sus respectivos ámbitos. Escuchamos músicas de raíces croatas, serbias, húngaras, eslovenas, rusas, tuvanas y griegas.

We review the results and some of the music we have found most interesting among the winners of several calls in which the makers of Mundofonías serve as jury members: the Balkan World Music Chart, the Russian World Music Chart and the Russian World Music Awards, where the most outstanding albums of 2025 have been selected in their respective fields. We listen to music with Croatian, Serbian, Hungarian, Slovenian, Russian, Tuvan and Greek roots.

Desde Hungría nos llega la fresquísima música de este grupo de jóvenes virtuosos, destinados a representar a su generación entre los grandes grupos de su país. Con una especial querencia por las músicas eslavas meridionales y balcánicas, nos presentan su nuevo trabajo “Tri, i” (‘Tres y’).

From Hungary comes the fresh and vibrant music of this group of young virtuosos, destined to represent their generation among the leading ensembles of their country. With a particular fondness for South Slavic and Balkan music, they present their new work “Tri, i” (‘Three and’).

Ibérica e itálica
Iberian and Italian

Disfrutamos con músicas de reciente publicación que nos muestran diversos tratamientos a partir de la raíz sonora y de la historia musical de estas dos penínsulas, la ibérica y la itálica, así como de las islas de su entorno. En Portugal recordamos clásicos y también nos lanzamos a experimentaciones o a conexiones africanas, que también encontramos en el corazón de la Meseta, entreveradas con aires castellanos y extremeños. Seguimos con jazz de raíces baleares, viajamos a un medievo italiano recreado y terminamos en el sur de este país, por Apulia y Calabria.

We enjoy recently released music that shows us various approaches based on the sonic roots and musical history of these two peninsulas, the Iberian and the Italian, as well as the islands around them. In Portugal we recall classics and also venture into experimentation or African connections, which we also find in the heart of the Meseta, interwoven with Castilian and Extremaduran airs. We continue with jazz of Balearic roots, travel to a recreated Italian Middle Ages, and finish in the south of this country, through Apulia and Calabria.
