Repasamos los tres discos favoritos del mes de julio/agosto del 2020, que nos trae el proyecto Fra Fra, desde Ghana; David Krakauer & Kathleen Tagg, desde Estados Unidos, y Lamia Bedioui & Solis Barki, desde Túnez y Grecia. Continuamos con un viaje fascinante que nos lleva por las leyendas amazig, las estepas de Mongolia, los barrios de Lisboa y las voces de Zimbabue.

We review the three Mundofonías’ favorite albums for July and August 2020: the new releases by the Fra Fra project, from Ghana; David Krakauer & Kathleen Tagg, from USA, and Lamia Bedioui & Solis Barki, from Tunisia and Greece. We continue in a fascinating trip that take us to the Amazigh legends, the Mongolian steppes, the quarters of Lisbon and the voices of Zimbabwe.

Comenzamos con una inédita alianza cumbiera colombiano-japonesa, para seguir desgranando más sonidos tórridos de inspiración latinoamericana, antes de saltar al este de Europa para escuchar algunos de los discos destacados en la Balkan World Music Chart, de la que los dos miembros de Mundofonías son también panelistas.

Repaso libre a la Transglobal World Music Chart del mes, confeccionada a través de la votación de un panel de divulgadores de las músicas del mundo de todos los continentes, del que los hacedores de Mundofonías somos cocreadores y coimpulsores. Repasamos discos que han marcado nuestras vidas y que son auténticas joyas merecedoras de ser siempre recordadas y disfrutadas. Traemos herencias de Chile, evocando a la gran cantora Violeta Parra y también zambulléndonos en las raíces de la cueca y otros estilos. Seguimos por el Pacífico, llegando al Cauca en Colombia, para saltar después a Europa, con encuentros afroeuropeos en Francia e intrigantes experimentaciones en Croacia y Lituania.

We bring legacies from Chile, evoking the great singer Violeta Parra and also diving into the roots of the cueca and other styles. We continue through the Pacific, arriving in Cauca, Colombia. Then we jump to Europe, with Afro-European meetings in France and intriguing experiments in Croatia and Lithuania.
